Dear international students,Currently most courses at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University are taught in Russian. Especially for international students who want to study at NArFU but do not speak Russian, the University organizes classes of the Preparatory Department. Here you can take a course of Russian language as well as your major courses in Russian. After successful passing the exams course participants obtain the certificate which enables them to continue their education at NArFU or to enter other universities of the Russian Federation. If you do not plan to enter the university and just want to learn Russian, welcome to the Russian language courses held on the basis of the Preparatory Department.
How to applyFor entering the Preparatory Department of Northern (Arctic) Federal University applicants have to send by e-mail: m.kovrigina@narfu.ru scanned copies of the following documents:
Tuition fee for an academic year set in July 2010 makes 47500 rubles at the Preparatory Department and 40 850 rubles at the courses of the Russian language. Classes begin from September, 14. If listeners arrive after this date and form a full group, lessons will be held in more intensive form. If listeners arrive after November, 1 they will be able to have classes only in the Russian language till May, 31 and continue their education at the Preparatory Department next academic year. Applicants have to make 100% advance payment for the classes at the Preparatory Department or for the classes at the courses of the Russian language and 100% advance payment for a hostel (550 rubles per year; 6600 rubles per academic year). To get the official invitation applicants have to make 100% advance payment for life insurance (40 dollars) and health insurance ( 2 000 rubles) as well. Invitations will be sent as soon as sums of money, mentioned above, are on University’s account. Expenses on mail delivering by DHL have to be covered by applicants as well.
