The Institute was established in 2001.

The Institute includes:

  • Department of Information Technologies;
  • Department of Computing Systems and Telecommunications;
  • Department of Informatics;
  • Department of Computer design; 
  • College of Telecommunications and Information Technologies;
  • Department of IT-education.

Currently the Institute is launching the following structures:

  • Research and Educational Center in Mirniy city;
  • Research and Educational Center on the Solovki Islands. 

The Institute is located in a separate building; it has a library and dining room, 12 classrooms, 7 computer labs equipped with modern facilities for training and students' independent work.

Directions of the full-time training:

  • “Information Systems and Technology”

Profiles:

  • “Information Systems and Technologies” (Qualification - Bachelor's degree);
  • “Information Technologies in Design” (Qualification - Bachelor's degree);
  • “Security of Information Systems” (Qualification - Bachelor's degree).

Specialty of secondary vocational education:

  • 230115 “Programming in Computer Systems” (qualification - technician-programmer).

Training is performed on the budgetary and contractual basis.

Currently the Institute trains about 1000 students. They annually take part in scientific conferences, competitions and contests; organize cultural and sporting events.

The Institute carries out exploration of the Solovetsky Islands and other remarkable and interesting places in the Russian North.
