Undergraduates and postgraduates in the 2000s live in a world where an ability to communicate in English with speakers of other languages is necessity in life!

Learning other languages – the way of crossing linguistic barriers!

All students of the Northern Arctic Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov can study a foreign language at the Foreign Languages Centre «Lingua».

Classes are available in English, French, German, Swedish, Norwegian and Italian from beginners to advanced level. Courses are available throughout the academic year. The duration of courses varies (from 50 to 100 hours). Elementary course effectively provides a complete introduction to the system of Grammar at a level which should be readily comprehensible by the students.

According to the programs our courses last for between half a year and one year with attendance at the Centre for two evenings per week as usual. In general, courses normally last for one year and include between 4 and 6 contact hours per week. Most of courses commence in September/October and February.

A couple of days before the beginning of each course there is a meeting, organized by the staff of the Centre. The program of meetings includes an introduction to studying at the Centre as well as detailed information about course-related matters (course time-table, payment etc.).

Lingua provides the students with wide-ranging and innovative teaching methods, a range of language teaching facilities including audio, video, printed material etc.
